For all blog posts regarding SE Asia: Asia Wanderings

Day 1 - We arrived by bus to Kim Hoang Hotel at 5:30 in the AM. We were lounging and using the internet so long waiting for our room, that she let us use her room to store our stuff and shower - so nice or we stunk up the lobby. We decided to eat some grub across the street, where a man asked us for our food as we were about to get up from our seats. Yvette decided to buy him a sammy and he happened to order himself a beer too - I like the way he thinks!

He told us that he grew up in an orphanage during the war and learned English when he was 5 from American Soldiers - he also liked Coca-Cola that Americans brought over as well, along with certain beers I have never heard of. Anywhoots, because of his English skills he learned, they used him as an interpreter, but became homeless when he was 18 and aged out of the orphanage.

—Dear Nha Trang Beach,

You are magnificant! Nha Trang had sunny beaches, no rain, and a perfect breeze, oh and deliciously salty waves to swim in - quite nostalgic. A famous painter (he showed us articles of himself from the newspaper), was selling his canvas prints, so we each bought one. Thennnn, the fruit lady or whatever she is called, came over and smacked Yvette’s butt while she was reading a book, and grabbed her by her ankles and pulled her off her towel to get up. She then made us a yummy assortment of fruit to eat while we lounged.

Then, we decided to walk to the cable car (longest in the world, beezies), which looked a lot closer than it actually was. When we arrived, we went a riding across the bay from Nha Trang to Vinpearl Island. BTW, Vinpearl Island is quite a sight! It is basically Disneyland on an island. There are rides, a water park, animal shows, a huge hotel resort — the whole shabam…if that is a word, idk, but my mom says it….When we left the island, a guard got us a taxi…there are guards everywhere. He asked us where we were from, which everyone pretty much asks. When we told him, he exclaimed, “oooooh the WEST! You’re the first for me to meet from America - AND Girls!” and gave us a thumbs up. Ooo second thumbs up on the trip - YES! He stated that everyone he meets is from Austrailia, the UK, and Canada, so Americans need to get their asses to Asia and stop being pansies, in the nicest way possible :)
